PIRC Parent Advisory Council
As an organization charged with increasing meaningful parent involvement in schools, it is critical to our mission to keep the parent perspective in the forefront of everything we do.  To help us with that, each 4 months we assemble a panel of parents that meet with us once each month, for the 4 months, to participate in a conversation about the work we are doing, and its meaningfulness for parents.  They review our documents, our description of our activities, and give us suggestions on how to be more effective.  Each 4 month council is held in a different community in the State.  Modeling what schools should do, we provide childcare and a hot meal to help facilitate and recognize the needs of families who are willing to give of their time to help us with this valuable work.  A $20 stipend is also paid to participants to help offset expenses to travel to the meeting.
